Well, it’s been a lil of this and lil of that. I did a public speaking gig for the Kiwanis in Canoga Park about the power of storytelling. It seemed to go over pretty well. Bless you Mary Paterson (again) http://www.canogaparkcal.com/. And I had a chance to do some storytelling and performing at ConChord http://www.conchord.org/, a filking convention. I was blown away by some of the talent I saw there, and ran into Lord Erebor (yes, that Lord Erebor.) My son RJ got his purple belt in Tae Kwon Do, and has started the 6th grade. He and my lady Inga (Roberta) went out a “Walk with Wolves” a publicity event for WHAR of Santa Robles, a good bunch of folks who do wolf hybrid adoptions. http://www.whar.org/index.htm Inga and RJ actually ended up in the Santa Barbara papers. While Mai-coh, the little white wolf-dog was not the biggest wolf-type there, I’m certain he won points for being Mr. Personality. Let’s see- Highland war was fun. In the brewing competition, Inga won for beer, my son won for a soda, and I won for my wild cherry mead! At the Ventura county fair, Inga took 1st place for her Boot’s off Barley Wine, and her Wolfalope Nut Brown Ale, and I took 1st place in the Mead Catagory for my Sangria Del Sol, which was pretty cool. My friend Odie (soon to be a pappa!) won 1st place for a “war wine”.
Hmmn. Well, Great Western war is around the corner, and I’ll be heading there. And I’ll be in Vegas in a week or so. After that, the crystal ball gets a little blurry. I’m working on some audio CD’s with my good friend Bill Howard, and that should keep me busy. I’m also writing articles for the Crown Prints, the main newsleatter for the SCA in California area, and hopefully, I’ll be adding an SCA wing to this website. And audio and video files! If anybody out there has expertise in these areas, let me know. Let’s see..oh, and I’ve lost a fair amount of weight, and my dieting quest continues onward.
