Greetings folks…..
Our friend Mychael Wordsmythe the Storyteller, (Dave Gotcher, or Mykie Dave), the Master of Moments, the Prince of Pauses, the Wizard of Words, has passed away on Sunday June 12th 2005. Mychael was a friend of mine, and many, and is/was a brilliant storyteller. He was a fixture in the S.California Faire scene, performing at the Big Faire out in S.Bernadino, and at the Crossroad faires. He was also a magician, and a character actor at Universal Studios (CA) playing Oliver Hardy, of Laurel and Hardy fame, among others. Mychael had a gentle way about him, and was always upbeat- his stories were full of hope, wit and humor.

He was involved in so many communities (storytelling,gonzo theatre,faire, etc.)that I’m hoping that if you knew him, you would pass this on to others who may have known him. Mychael, recently moved to Texas, and was getting involved out there, with his wife Holly, and Stepson Jason. Mykie Dave, had some ongoing medical issues, (diabetes, phlebitis, etc.)and had gone to the hospital. He was there 9days, and they released him. After returning home, his condition suddenly got worse, and he passed away.

Many of his friends, lead by Badger, are getting together to have a Variety Show/Fundraiser some time this fall. The proceeds will go to help his family and the American Diabetes Association. This July 4th out at the Corona faire site, I believe they are planning a memorial as well.
