Ahem, now a quick word from our sponsor…

Ever heard the expression, “hoist by his own petard”. Back in the old days of seige warfare, folks would make crude bombs, put them by castle walls, and try to crack them. Timing was negotiable, and “FLOOMPH” Literally, lifted by his own success. Ahem.
Well, I have a business where I do consulting in the media industry (broadcast technology and such.) Well, I’ve managed to land a gig where I have a major client, and keep my days pretty busy. And yes, it is more lucrative. Does this mean I’ve stopped storytelling- heck no. But I tend to do more during weekends and evenings. So keep me in mind, my schedule is flexible.
So as to the late (very late) breaking news-
Well, the Potrero war was a great success, in terms of storytelling, etc. I performed at the Potrero Library, and had some SCA demonstrators come out and do their thing (including some ladies in heavy metal!) woo! The kids ate it up. At the same event, the Black Bard, and Lord Yonaton co-conspired to make the family concert a success, as well as much help from variety of folks, including “The Lost Souls” and “House De’Steele” In particular, Magnus and Maggie, and more. All the folks from the SCA were very helpful, and we managed to get good PR our via flyers, and more. But the absolute Raving Success was the Bawdy Concert. It was totally inappropriate for minors, and we even got our storytelling friend Donnae Tidwell up there to take the shine off her angelic personae. My guess is 200 people or more, a huge turn out for a first time event. And so many talented people stepped up to bat. I guess I am the “Chuck Barris” of the SCA. I tried out my Nasruddin outfit (check out the mighty Good Year turban.) My friend Jen and Nick made it to the war, and had a great time, and a belldancing storytelling revue is in the works!
Among other things I’ve been up to- I did the LAPL Festival (6 storytelling sessions back to back) where I told the story of how Puss In Boots (my new hero) came to be the Ogre hunter in Shrek 2. That seemed to go well, and I also managed to finish my classes on public speaking “How to be a Master Communicator” with the Learning Annex. So, things have been quite busy, and I have some more gigs coming down the pike. Please don’t hesitate to give me a shout! Blessings- True
